In early January, a group of staff, instructors, and grad students participated in a safety workshop hosted by ExxonMobil in Houston. The workshop brought together representatives from the University of Texas at Austin, the University of Florida, Georgia Tech, and Texas A&M as part of the new Partners in Academic Laboratory Safety program. The workshop included tours, presentations about the culture of safety, and best practices at ExxonMobil, and set a course for future safety initiative at UT Austin.
