Department of Chemistry senior Paul Bernard is a Dean's Honored Graduate by the College of Natural Sciences (CNS) for the 2013-14 academic year.  This award is given to no more than 1% of CNS graduating seniors (typically about 20 students receive the award out of nearly 2000 graduating students in an academic year).  Honored Graduates are nominated by faculty, followed by a vote of the College's Faculty and Honors Advisers. Selection is based on academic record, significant achievements in research, leadership and service to the UT and greater Austin community.

As a Dean's Honor Graduate, Paul will sit on stage with the Dean at Commencement on May 17 and members of his family will be invited to sit at the front at Commencement.  Additionally, a plaque will be mounted in the Dean's Office in W.C.Hogg listing Paul and 2014's other honorees. Also, Paul will receive a book award from the College.
