Kelly Wiggins (Bielawski Group) invited to attend Polymer Research Symposium

Kelly Wiggins, a 3rd year graduate student in the lab of Professor Chris Bielawski, has been invited to attend the Excellence in Graduate Polymer Research Symposium, which is sponsored by the ACS Division of Polymer Chemistry (POLY) and cosponsored by the ACS Society Committee on Education (SOCED), Younger Chemists Committee (YCC) and the Division of Professional Relations (PROF). The symposium will take place at the ACS Anaheim meeting on Monday, March 28, 2011.

Kelly is originally from College Station. She graduated in 2008 from Austin College (Sherman, TX) with a BA in Chemistry (with honors). Since joining the Bielawski lab, Kelly’s research has been focused on the use of polymers to exert mechanical force onto embedded small molecules in order to alter stereochemistry, activate catalysis, or effect retro-[4+2] cyclization reactions.
