Classroom Demos

Mission

The mission of the UT Chemistry Demonstrations Program is to provide quality experiments for University of Texas instructors to employ during their lectures as a method of illustrating challenging chemical principles. The Demonstrations Program will target concepts that are difficult to visualize and utilize handson demonstrations to enhance the inclass learning experience. These objectives will be accomplished by the development of new compelling demonstrations, in addition to the augmentation of traditional “boring” chemistry experiments.

Vision

The vision of the UT Chemistry Demonstrations Program is to become the preeminent science education program for collegiate level students in the United States. They aspire to achieve this vision by encouraging every chemistry instructor to utilize exciting demonstrations in their classroom, resulting in an invaluable experience for the UTAustin students. All students in attendance will be encouraged to take pictures/videos and post them on their respective social media sites, allowing for the shameless self-promotion of the UT Chemistry Demonstrations Program.
