Analytical Teaching Lab Coordinator needed

The Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry, at the University of Texas at Austin is seeking an individual to play an essential role in our undergraduate program. The main job responsibilities include planning, coordinating, and teaching analytical methods in a laboratory setting.

The individual will assist faculty in the improvement of our undergraduate curriculum in analytical chemistry involving approximately 200 students and 14 teaching assistants per semester. Additional areas of responsibility include acquisition of new instrumentation and the development and implementation of new experiments. The exact teaching duties will depend on the interests and capabilities of the individual.

Background in one or more of the following areas is desirable: analytical, physical, and materials chemistry. A Ph.D. is required. Other requirements: excellent teaching and administrative skills with a strong command of written and spoken English.

Applicants must be qualified to work in the U.S. This position consists of a nine-month, non-tenure track faculty appointment at the rank of Lecturer and a three-month combined Lecturer/administrative appointment during the summer for a total of 12 months of support. This position is renewable on an annual basis depending on job performance.
