Olja Simoska Attends International Conference of Young Scientists in Moscow

Simoska Olja GSA 1In September, graduate student Olja Simoska, member of the Shear research group (UT Austin) and the Stevenson research group (Skolkovo Institute of Science and Technology), attended the 3rd International Conference of Young Scientists in Moscow, Russia organized by the Skoltech Center for Electrochemical Energy Storage and Moscow State University. The conference topic was "Topical Problems of Modern Electrochemistry and Electrochemical Materials Science."

The conference's goal is to provide a broad overview of the current progress and challenges for advancing electrochemistry research. Speakers were invited to give lectures covering key scientific discoveries and provide future perspectives in their fields. Olja's lecture covered her research using carbon ultramicroelectrode arrays.

On her experience, Olja remarked, “The conference definitely fortified my love for doing research and solving scientific problems. The exchange of ideas, the long science discussions, and intellectual conversations after each lecture were very inspiring especially for young scientists, like me, to make a difference in the world. It was great to meet other scientists who also do electrochemistry research and to make useful connections. I am happy that I had the wonderful opportunity to attend this conference, give a lecture on my research, and get valuable feedback from researchers and experts.”
