Graduate student Zachary Kasun of the Krische Group is a 2015-2016 recipient of the ACS Division of Organic Chemistry Graduate Fellowship. The Division of Organic Chemistry annually awards fellowships to outstanding third and fourth year graduate students in organic chemistry. The program has awarded more than 300 fellowships since 1981.
Zachary is a third year graduate student working with Professor Michael Krische. He earned his BS degree from Boston College, where he conducted research with Professor James Morken. His current research involves utilizing transition metal catalyzed transfer hydrogenative methods towards the total synthesis of natural products.
Zachary will receive a $26,000 fellowship stipend, which includes $750 for travel to the 2017 National Organic Symposium (NOS) to present a poster on his research.
