The Department of Chemistry is pleased to announce that Shagufta Shabbir, Conrad Fjetland, Carlos Baiz, Emily Que, and Lauren Webb have been promoted, effective September 1, 2021.
Conrad Fjetland has been promoted to Senior Lecturer and Shagufta Shabbir has been promoted to Associate Professor of Instruction.
Carlos Baiz has been promoted to Associate Professor with tenure. Baiz received his PhD in 2011 from the University of Michigan, followed by postdoc positions at MIT and the University of Chicago. He joined the department in 2015.
Emily Que has been promoted to Associate Professor with tenure. Que received her PhD in 2009 from UC Berkeley, followed by a postdoc position at Northwestern. She joined the department in 2014.
Lauren Webb has been promoted to Professor. Webb received her PhD in 2005 from Caltech, followed by a postdoc position at Stanford. She joined the department in 2008 and is the Associate Chair for Graduate Education.
